i am so breaking up with cancer

For 40 years I had the privilege of working as an actor on stage, screen, and television – if you didn’t blink, you might have seen me in the  Roger Corman horror film The Unborn with Kathy Griffin or as a rattled flight attendant with Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm. I’ve played nuns, nudists, psychics, therapists, and borsht belt comediennes, Then., when I turn 54, I was handed the most challenging part of my life –  the role of a pancreatic cancer patient.

Seven years later, I am alive and thriving and excited to share what I’ve learned with you

My life is not what I imagined, but I can unequivocally say it is better post cancer, and more vibrant than ever.

Turns out after playing all those parts, the role I enjoy the most is the part of a thriving human being!

While I don’t “recommend” cancer and suggest that if you have the opportunity to opt out or unsubscribe, you do that, but I didn’t have that choice, so I decided to let cancer be my teacher and hang with it until I’d learned the lessons I needed to learn.

Truth be told, any life challenging situation is an opportunity to grow. The question is….

Will you allow yourself – when faced with seemingly insurmountable odds or circumstances – to lean in, accept, and even embrace the situation you are in, trusting that you will get through this and there is gold on the other side?

50 shades of gray hair

Ever heard of a Hollywood actress excited about getting older?

Meet Wendy Hammers.

Actress, Author and Stand Up Comedian Wendy Hammers is alive and well. Having recently survived pancreatic cancer, this is not something she takes for granted.

EVER.

While TV audiences may know her from her guest star turns on Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Sopranos, Bernie Mac, and Mad About You and comedy fans have enjoyed her appearances on Oprah, in Vegas casinos and in clubs from Hawaii to Florida and forty of the states in between, these days Ms. Hammers is tickled and honored to be sharing her optimistic story of surviving and joyfully thriving, of aging gracefully; of resilience and reinvention.

This speaker will leave you dancing in the aisles, grateful to be alive and living in your amazing body.
